请问两道语法

1,because its body is supported by water,the blue whale can grow to a size considerable

larger than any land mammal alive today.

答案b是不对,但我觉得 D,alive好象也有问题.查了语法,是作为表语形容词,不能修饰名词的.这里是后置修饰名词了.为什么不错呢?

2.nutrients are substance,neither occurring naurally or in sy nthetic form,that  are necessary for maintenance of the nomal functioning of organisms.

答案是A,neither  or 不能这么用吗?但是我觉得B也不对,因为语法中有非限定性定语从句,只能用which,不能用that.为什么这里不错,是因为中间的插入语就不算非限定性定语从句了吗?

呵...还是有点没明白呀.查了语法,who在这里 如果做定语从句的主语,应该不能省略的.做宾语可省略,但这里显然是在做主语代替mammal.该怎样理解才对呢?谢谢.

偶的印象中

sb(sth) who is(that is)+adj　中的who is(that is )是可以省略的

相反 sb(sth)who(that) +v  中的who(that)是不能省略的

a开头的形容词通常只能做表语，但有一部分可以放在名词后面做修饰语，只是不可以做前置定语，相似的词包括， alone\asleep\awake etc.

“，”+that 是错的。

例外的情况是中间有插入语，即：“，”。。。。“，”+that 是对的。
