UCL and CASS are much better than CUHK. Attending top schools, people cluster with smart people and become smarter. In Hong Kong, top employers look for people with international experience. There is one banker at JP Morgan who held a talk in HKU, saying that they recruit people study in the UK and US because they follow markets, but people in HKU or CUHK or HKUST only follow Facebook newsfeed. -- by 会员 mc2317 (2012/2/20 8:47:45)
But I really doubt whether UCL and CASS are considered as top schools in chinese job markets......You know, UCL and CASS to some extent can not compete with Oxbridge, LSE, IC and even WBS......Therefore if the brand names of UCL and CASS are not strong enough to be the targets for most top employers in China, why not choose CUHK which is more cost-effective? Besides, after I compared the chinese students who have admitted into those three programmes(not in the school level), I think the chinese students who apply for Macc in CUHK has a better profile than those in the other two programmes. On the other hand, I do not expect to join IBDs or some top employers and I think it is not realistic for me to think about it. Because I have no IBD internships before and my undergraduate university is not the top school in china.... After I graduate, I only want to initiate my career in one of the Big 4 accounting firms.....Do you think I still need to go to UK? What do you think about it? .......It's hard for me to make a decision..... -- by 会员 zhsbzhouyd (2012/2/20 15:16:20)
You had made the decision because you tend to CUHK much more according to your analysis. On my own,I prefer CUHK as well, because on my observation, UCL and CASS are not recognized as top schools, and they are not a competitive school to stay in UK too.CUHK will give you more chances to build up your network in local job markets. So, I vote for CUHK. |
