company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory nearyour community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influenceon your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position.

Recently, the problem has been brought intofocus in our community that whether a large factory should be built near ourcommunity. Different people would have different answers. Those who oppose thebuilding of the factory hold the view that the pollution from the factory wouldheavily influence the environment of our community. Those who prefer the plan,on the other hand, argue that the factory will rocket the economy of thecommunity. Before rendering my opinion, I think it is necessary to take aglance at the argument of both sides.

It is quite easy for average people tooppose the plan because of the obvious reason that the factory will inevitablyproduce a mass amount of pollution, such as noise, waste water, and poisonousgas. I understand their worry since the health of every citizen is a paramounttopic.

True, this assertion is quite compelling.Yet we can never ignore the contributions that the factory will do to ourcommunity. First of all, it will provide a myriad of job opportunities to our community citizens. A newfactory will surely need a lot of workers and the more people have a job, themore stable our community will be. In addition, the profit produced by thefactory will by the way boost our community's economy. The tax paid by thefactory can be used to develop other industries or education. Last but not theleast, the need for excellent transportation of the factory will probablyenhance the traffic condition of our community. Suppose that the pollution madeby the factory is controllable and will dolittle harm to human beings, why do we give up the benefits listed above?

Finally, as a proverb says,"Everything has two sides". Although I admit that the pollutionproduced by the factory will pose a threat to our health in some extent, theadvantages the factory will bring to us carry more weight than thisdisadvantage.

From what we havediscussed above, we may safely come to the conclusion that building a largefactory near our community is a wise decision,and the factory will surely bring benefits to our lives.
