44) Claim: It is no longer possible for a society to regard any living man or woman as a hero.
Reason: The reputation of anyone who is subjected to media scrutiny will eventually be diminished.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.

Based on people is not the god and cannot make no faults, when anyone is subjected to media scrutiny, the reputation may eventually be diminished. From this view, the issue concerning that it is no longer possible for a society to regard any living man or woman as a hero to some extent seems reasonable. However, just as we realize that people is not the god and it is usual to make mistakes, we cannot deny a hero's greatness given that they made some errors that can be understood.

In general, a hero in people's heart should be great in some aspects. It is undeniable that media is so strong that anyone may be subjected to its scrutiny since people is just a kind of animal and they have desires for self-satisfactory, thus sometimes they may make some faults.

In political fields, the president Clinton's sex scandal with Lewinsky was discovered by the media, which diminished his reputation as a great political leader. In sports fields, Brant's raping scandal was digged out by the media, whether it is the truth, it seems to have diminished his reputation of a great basketball player. In educational fields, LiYang's scandal of domestic violence was exposed by media, which to some extent diminished his reputation as a good educator.  

From those examples above, it seems reasonable that it is no longer possible for a society to regard any living man or woman as a hero since many people forget that a hero is also a common person who may make some faults, although a hero makes some faults, we cannot deny their great in some aspects even if these faults maybe cannot be pardoned but can be understood based on a common person's needs.

Although Clinton's reputation was diminished by the sex scandal and could not eventually continue to be the president, we cannot deny his great contribution to lead the US to a more thrive society at that time. The same thing can be said of Brant's raping matter. Even it is the truth, we cannot deny his talent in basketball and he is also a hero is basketball field. When it comes to LiYang's scandal of domestic violence, although the matter to some degree shows that LiYang is not a good husband or a good father, however, it is undeniable that he is a hero in educational teaching since he helped numerous Chinese to learn how to study English which may be important for someone's whole life.

In conclusion, no one is perfect and when saying someone is a hero, we view his/her great aspects, maybe we can describe "hero" more accurately like this: Clinton's great contribution to the US's economy, Brant's talent in basketball, LiYang's great help in English education.
