答案选E，解释是C项句尾的request逻辑错误。。但我觉得C比E的平行结构更工整，而且request使用无错，虽说罗嗦了点，不知道C有没有什么硬伤？求分析

1、意思优先，结构次之，partly也不是严格要求平行的，C项被动实在太糙了
2、按句义，increasing demand应该和higher profit相对逻辑更合理，而不是request
