我觉得这里yet有两种词性

1 adv: in addition : besides
            <gives yet another reason>. 2. con. 即连词,but同义

那么如果按以前的NN们得出的结论C对是基于yet的递进的意思,那么是否违背了副词不能连接句子的说法呢? 而如果yet做连词来讲那么有是but的意思;整个句子逻辑就不通了...

c,d都没有语法错误,

区别点：c中for表原因解释前句，yet表转折

d中用and,表和前句轻微顺序，用however表后段整体与前句整体转折

我倾向选d,原因：1、c中for these families can no longer afford to buy homes,作原因，逻辑上很牵强；d用and流畅些

2、c中的yet表转折有歧义，可以表示和主句的转折也可以表和for分句的转折，而d很好的解决了这个问题用分号隔开，分号前后两个表明两种相反的状况。

原句的意思是 middle-income families are especially hard-hit 的原因有2个，首先是因为他们买不起房子，and despite of this (yet在这里的意思），房租又上涨了。

D的话转折关系是弄清楚了，但是却正好弄错了

变成了middle-income families are especially hard-hit 和房租上涨的转折

必须是C啊！！！为什么不是C。。。
他们很惨，因为买不起房了，更惨的是——房租还涨了。这有什么问题？
