主句的谓语动词demonstrate用的是过去时，宾语从句用的是现在时are。我不太理解，1987年的financial crash怎么demonstrate今天的capital market是more integrated的 ？

过去的事件反映的一个普遍现象，可以用一般现在时。

比如我们可以说：从铁器时代到青铜时代的发展表明(demonstrated)人类社会是一直在进步(progress)着的。
