Intl students的起薪也能达到92400美刀的水平吗？亚洲男生会不会偏少？

我记得没有无担保贷款的，但是会有好几种奖学金国际学生可以拿到，过了第一年还可以打工。GMAT高分和国际学生会有些奖学金。Strong international experience，还有对program贡献多的，受师生喜爱的学生也会有奖学金。

第一年学业太重没法打工的。暑期的实习打工可以存一些钱。第二年就有很多学校里兼职机会，也有些人给暑假实习的公司兼职。BYU给学生创造很多的校园兼职机会。可以做TA，Sherpa（辅导MBA新生找工作），给本科生校园实习项目做Mentor，或是去中文课当助教。

2012年入学总共费用得7万多吧。这个费用包括了学费和各个衣食住行费用。我个人觉得书本费用，房租和交通费都可以比官方数字低。

这7万多是刀啊还是人民币啊，如果是人民币，那学费才多点啊，我在网站上看他家的学费一年好几万刀啊，多谢回复，很重要，

留在美国的国际学生薪水和美国学生没有差异。公司只要招，就和美国人一样对待。回国的话，看各公司的政策。像强生，回国的薪水跟美国差不多。我听说沃尔玛和Caterpillar回国薪水可能会低一些。但这些公司的薪水都是可以谈的。


我感觉薪水高低主要不是看你是哪个国家来的，pre－MBA背景，公司政策，薪水谈判都比较重要。92400应该试平均工资，实际到每个人，会有上下10－20％浮动。



国际学生在找工作上机会会比美国学生少一些，因为在美国工作需要公司sponsor work visa。但是中国人又比其他国际学生机会有多。很多大公司都有在中国的业务。

不好意思，我说的还不够清楚。7万多美金是两年所有费用。
费用的话，建议你再去官网里看看estimated expenses。他们列的很详细。

Hechagu，了解您的苦衷.  7万多美金是包括两年所有费用.  但实际上用不了这么多.  原因是:



* BYU总会有一些这样那样的scholarship的机会.  入学时, 每位学生都多多少少收到一些学费减免, 从10%到100%不等.  


* 相对加州和纽约, 犹他州的整体消费水平比较低.  当初我申请的时候, 是按照官网的资料budget银子的.  后来才知道生活费不需要那么多, 我和我太太两个人自己做饭, 180美金一个月足够.  我们租两室一厅, 就在商学院附近, 比较贵一点, $625一个月水电全包.  


* 我个人不知道接受了多少中国学生和其他国家学生的帮助.  我的课本和案例都是从上一届一个台湾学生手上买的, 一大箱子书和case packets, 他只象征性地收了我一点点钱.  感恩节前, 学校教授们在google docs上有一个sign-up sheet, 邀请国际学生家庭去家里一起过感恩节, 美国同学也有邀请我们, 因为他们都知道我们在这边远离国内的亲人.  圣诞节前, 我们全体学生收到MBA Director的一封信, 主旨是Do you know a student with a financial need? 他告诉我们年底手上还有一些没有发完的scholarship, 并请我们推荐一些需要帮助的同学.  据我所知, 很多摩尔门教友学生都是拖家带口的, 经济负担并不轻, 但是他们都纷纷推荐非教友的国际学生.  我的名字也被推荐了上去.  我和我太太商量后, 婉拒了这个机会.  倒不是因为我们是百万富翁, 是因为我太太目前同时在打几份工, 相对于一些老公上学老婆在家带孩子的家庭, 我们还有一定的生活来源的.  我讲这个经历是想让大伙儿知道, 你们申请的这个MBA program是真正关心我们学生需要的一个program.  没错, 时下经济是很难, 找工作也比前两年辛苦很多, 但是有了同学之间的互相关爱和帮助, 再苦的日子都会好过很多.

Prior to coming back to school, I worked in the pension actuarial consulting field for 5 years (Tower Watson and Mercer Consulting) in Denver. Prior to work, I graduated from the BYU actuarial science program, magna cum laude.

This summer I worked for a life insurance company performing credit analyses on distressed structured bonds, hedging life insurance products and performing market research and had a blast!

Hey,

Are you non-LDS as well? How is the community of non-LDS international students there at BYU? Do they have much to do? Are they isolated from the majority? Can you please advise about the social life for an non-LDS international student?

Also, without a background in finance, is it easy to switch and start a career in corporate finance (f500)? I can tell CF and HR are two of the areas that BYU apparently shines in.

Hi, I am LDS and have been since I was a little kid. There is an association for international students in the MBA program that provides all kinds of fun activities for all international students. When I go to those activities, I never think to just socialize with LDS only. Also, even in school with other classmates, you can't tell who is or who is not LDS, there is no name tags or special badges that identify who goes to the LDS church or not. There are numerous congregations, so everyone goes to a different congregation every Sunday and you rarely see your classmates in the same congregation so you really can't tell who is and who is not.

The religion part wouldn't be my biggest concern. You will be surprised to find very nice people to work with and make friends with. This is just my personal opinion. I can find some other non-LDS classmates to provide you with their feedback.

Whether it is easy to switch to corporate finance or not have a lot to do with how diligent the student is and what exactly the companies are looking for. Many f500 companies come to BYU to recruit and recruiters assume if you can get in BYU, you have the aptitude to do well. But some companies look more for technical skills and prior experiences. For example, I have no corporate finance background and got two corporate finance offers.
