欢迎指教 physical activity and sports are as important to student education as academics.
The conclusion that physical activity and sports are as important to student education as academics is partially, if not whole, correct. Admittedly, while physical sports need to be emphasized in schools’ training to students, academic training is still the crucial part in school’s overall education.
With appropriate activities and sports, students can improve their own health in many ways. It can help exercise our body muscles, reduce excessive fat and enhance functionality of heart system. Moreover, it results in improvements in mental faculty of retaining and refresh memories and better concentration of brain perceive and understand information. In contrast, many studies have shown that if students don’t have enough exercise, they have weaker physical and mental condition to be competitive in school against those who have done sports. In other words, having appropriate exercise suits students needs to have a healthy body as well as do well in study.
However, to draw the conclusion that physical activity and sports are as important to student education as academics is not justified by the fact that students are in school mainly to learn knowledge and skills to be used in their future work and life. It is widely believed that good academic performances will determine students what college they would go to, what job they can get, and what future paycheck they will receive. Therefore we can’t weigh the same importance to physical exercises which is not the primary considering factor in deciding students’ future careers. In addition, if participating in sports is over emphasized, it will take up a large amount of time and energy from what is supposed to be used for studies. Thus it is likely to cause poorer results in academics and less competence in abilities.
In conclusion, physical activity and sports are very important but yet not as important as academic education. To keep exercise as a necessary supplement to study will enable students to work more effective and achieve better academic performance. |
