These kinds of essays are a bit like an elevator pitch. Recount your STORY (not a list of your accomplishments- that's what the resume is for). Think of it as this: you are a CEO of a firm trying to sell your company to investors. You got two minutes. Go. In this case, 'your company' is yourself. Of course, when you are really pitching your company, you have to think about what the investors want. In this case, however, the 'investors' (business schools) are more alike than different. After all, isn't it true that they all want smart, well-rounded, leaders with strong social skills? I would worry less about customising your pitch to each school, and focus more on painting a picture of yourself that includes a very bright and rosy future. Sell a vision. Tell them your vision of yourself, and pick and choose past accomplishments to substantiate that story. PS, That's easier said than done. In my experience, cutting things out is often harder than leaving things in. -- by 会员 cannedpineapples (2011/10/31 16:57:14)
