Hey there. Yes, it is possible to switch from banking into consulting. But…why would you want to bother with that kind of switch? Why not just stay with something that you ARE qualified to do? Like, say, finance? Yes, you can argue that you are already good at consulting. And to be sure, you will need to do much more than simply say that you have a new brand and network—you will need to show that you have worked in a consulting capacity, even while you were in banking. Solving problems, working with clients, working on teams, etc. if you can pull that off, you will have a shot. But again, we never recommend career switches if we can help it…

你在做corporate finance方面的工作时，遇到了很多挑战，你在提出management建议的时候，发现很多是战略层面的，你希望做的更多，从focus在finance，过渡到total solution，是不是可以link到你要的management consulting

Banking对finance的了解是优势，但focuses on financial service in a managment consulting firm。。。这个有点别扭，其实我觉得1楼的想法很对，essay中make sense最重要，这跟你进学校之后学什么找什么工作没有关系啊～
