due to与owing to 的用法不太懂，尤其刚做了赖氏语法上的题，更是觉得糊涂：

4. Rothstein, due to his indulgence,was deprived of equal access to the appellate courts.

5. Due to progressive education, the trend during the past twenty years has been to let the child make his own literary choices, lest he develop a dislike for reading.

这两个题目的答案都说due to 错了，应改为owing to ，但本人感觉在实际用法上并无明显的区别，在这两题中也是如此。

同意楼上的看法，对托福来说，没有那么细微的差别。建议还是看看新东方的托福高分语法。

楼上几位说得对，托福语法不考这么细的，不要花过多时间转牛角尖。 due to介词短语，过去常用来作表语，现在好像怎么用都行可用作状语 His relapse was due to hypertension. 压力过大导致旧病复发。 He was arrested due to the brigandage. 盗窃被捕。

owing to作状语，既能指积极的原因，也可指消极的原因。 Owing to my efforts，I was absorbed into CD's manager team.（表积极）

我们建议只讨论ETS的真题（可见真题的可贵，如果TOEFL也有OG就好了），从中发现问题并解决。

偶印象中，ETS真题里用过不少Due to的结构，一般不会错的。。。。。
