The original sentence is correct. "Famous because of 'The Godfather'"and "near to those he most trusted" correctly modify "a town," which modifies Corleone. Noun modifiers must be next to the nouns that they describe. This choice contains no other errors.

相当subtle的题，我可以理解为什么C不对，可以理解为什么A对，但是觉得E并不是绝对错，可能不够idiomatic和clear

我觉得这道题BCD里面，修饰的主题都不对，因为主句逻辑里面 a town famous because of the “The Godfather” 和 near to those he most trusted都是修饰C的。然后再看AE，E里面表达比较繁琐，如果要是选优那应该是A。可以我也不清楚A里的那个those是代指什么的？我刚一开始是看到those觉得不对，饶了一大圈，看着后面的都不对，又回去觉得应该是A。。。
