C错的还算比较明显的，主要是falling months behind in its paying， 在这里paying明显充当名词，但是GMAT有规定，如果一个词有自己的名词形式（比如pay的名词是payment），就不要用这个词ing形式来作名词，一看到这种就排除！这个语法特点在OG12有一道语法题有详细解释的。至于前面那个but then it proved 和but then proved其实没什么大区别，也就是说C的but then it proved多了一个it不是大错，因为好像有的地方语法解释连词后面要加完整句子，有的又说主语相同可以省略。大概就是这样，主要记住前一个语法点，在GMAT里有自己的名词就不能用ing形式来表示名词~~~

恩 但是答案是E 啊，答案不是ing 么

晕。。。答案是E啊，没错！因为E的paying不是名词啊，是fall in doing something，这里的paying只不过是动词pay的现在分词，不是作名词

又回到这个问题了。。。能不能加名词我不敢保证，但是即使能加名词，也不能用paying，因为pay有它的名词形式，那就是payment，既然有payment这么漂亮的名词，干嘛要用paying？但是C不同，为什么C能看出来paying是名词呢？因为paying前有个its，its后面只能跟名词，说明paying在C里是名词，那么就是错的。understand？
