Our inaugural class was fairly small – 22 graduated. Below are the job offer results. There are a couple of things to keep in mind. It is difficult for International students as not all US companies sponsor international students for work in the US. Of our 7 International students, 2 returned to their home countries. One returned to his former company and the other found a position through job search here but the job was in Beijing with PWC. One other international (Chinese) student is working for a marketing firm in the US, but not in Health Informatics. The marketing firm was willing to sponsor the student and the student thought that was more important than working in health informatics. Otherwise, our students went to work with hospitals, consulting firms, and electronic health record vendors for the most part. We will provide a series of career skills seminars and a number of meet and greet events to give you the opportunity to network. While we work hard to bring potential hiring organizations in to meet the class, we don’t “place” or guarantee a job. We arm you with the skills you need to conduct an effective job search and we try to introduce you to third parties who are potential employers, but no guarantees on a job offer.
