如果你的目标只是10到20名的院校。你还不如多工作几年去读一个比较好的emba，比如在新加坡的芝加哥的emba。

这个看法非常creative。
的确，现在申请的话，还得花力气解释为什么读了博又来读mba了。
但如果有十年以上工作经验，做了manager之后再申请emba的话，博士学位反倒成了自己的一个优势。


另一方面，目前还没发现什么解读emba的资料，对其提升空间、对未来的影响不是很清楚啊。

Hello my friend.  While you don’t have a shot at HBS or Stanford (or Wharton), you DO have a shot at top 15-20 schools.  In fact, your TOEFL is your biggest drawback—Booth wont look at your app unless you get a 104, for example.  Any chance you can take that test?  If yes, you will be able to nudge closer to the top 10-15.  But just the same, you should be in the top 20 for sure, provided that you write a very strong application.  So good luck—it will all be about the essays for a borderline candidate such as yourself…

Thank you very much for pointing out directly there won't be a chance for H/S/W. This is actually what I need: objective evaluation.
I just know I can achieve 110+ for TOEFL for R2 application. Also, I will try my best to hit 740+ GMAT for R2.
Will these (assumed) scores change my possibility, a bit?

Yes my friend—if you can hit these numbers, you will be in a VERY different league.  If only you could do all these things, and still be in Round 1.  Any chance you could?  If yes, then you would have a chance at the top-three schools this year FOR SURE…

Well, although I could try to achieve higher TOEFL and GMAT for R1 application, I am afraid that in that case my essay part would be relatively weakened, because I will have to shift more time to test-taking.
Anyway, I will try to hit higher scores first, and then decide whether to apply in R2 of this year, or perhaps in R1 of the coming year.


By the way, I am really thankful to your generous sharing of "essay analysis" on your website! It does help a lot.

Hey there!  You can certainly apply with your score—but certain schools will not accept your app.  You have barely made the cutoff at Booth, and you have not made the cutoff at HBS for example.  So if you think you can boost your score, then by all means retake it.  Sadly tho, this may push your app back into Round 2 right?  At that point, it is not gonna be worth it.  So go with what you have, unless you can retake it and still hit Round 1…

Thanks for ur reply, Jon..I have successfully registered for another chance of IBT next Saturday, so I will miss the round 1 definitely..I want to raise my speaking score to 25 or more, a big challenge for me that will prepare me better for the MBA application.
