No. Trust me. They meet thousands of applicants a year. They won't remember you, unless you screw up.

It's simply not worth the effort. By all means visit if you feel you need to learn more about the fit of the school; but you can't impress them. Of course this is different if you're applying to a small and close-knit programme like the Lauder Institute where everyone knows everyone else. When it's something bigger like HBS or Wharton? It's next-to-useless.

Agreed. That's why I said, visit if you need to learn more about your fit with the school. Otherwise, if you're just looking to impress, your time and money is better spent elsewhere.

Jon, is it possible at all to meet the adcom staff while visiting schools? AS sportmann said, most of the time the adcom staff will not host the visit. How can we impress the adcom by visiting school, except for integrating it into the essay? (I believe a lot of ppl will do so if this is a way to 'impress' the recruiter).

Hello dude—yes, sometimes adcom members will be willing to meet with you.  But you cant rely on that fact—sometimes, they will be too busy.  And rightly so—this is their busiest season!  There isn’t much you can do, just show up, be well dressed, be respectful of their time, and make one or two smart comments about the school.  They will only give you five minutes or so, so don’t overthink it.  Just make some smart comments, shake their hands, thank them honestly for their time, and move on.  That’s all—it WILL help that they remember your face…
