话说答案是C，主谓一致pass掉A B D，但是我不是很理解其中with的用法，如果是作为独立主格的话，语法笔记上不是说其结构应该是：
with+宾语+宾补，如：with+n.+v-ed/v-ing/介词短语/形容词短语.

可是本题的答案后面是that引导的句子啊，这一点是不是我理解的很有问题啊？

你说的语法书中的解释应该是with的一种用法，或说GMAC经常会考的一种说法：独立主格

这里with的用法只是基本的with+名词，只不过名词后面有定语从句，这个定语从句有比较迷惑（although...)罢了

我也觉得，这个感觉就是插入语啊，with+名词。the pattern with crests and troughs~~~可以省掉的
