这句话citing as evidence the company’sfailure to slow production in response to a recent rise in its inventory of finished products是一个倒桩，还原就是citing the company’sfailure to slow production in response to a recent rise in its inventory of finished products as evidence. 跟前面那个人讲的话没有关系。如果是引用前面那个人讲的话，应该用cited表被动，而不是citing. citing的逻辑主语是investor。
