问个尖锐问题，有人为了申请TOP去做志愿者吗。

没有做过志愿者的难道就没有机会了么？国内志愿活动/义工的教育和普及程度还很不够。

这个没有什么不好的，如果真的觉得应该出于无私的目的，那么为什么还要写在申请论文里面给自己的top 加分呢？

就好比雷锋做好事不留名，却把它写在了日记本里，呵呵。

做志愿者是一件非常有成就感的事情。就算很多商学院的申请者开始是抱着这个目的开始的，慢慢地也会热爱上这份工作。

我开始的目的是一半一半，现在就已经是完全投入了。不管最后去不去商学院，志愿者我会一直做下去。

没觉得这个问题尖锐。比如说美国很多中学生被学校要求去社区作志愿者，多少小时，等等，算是他们学校生活的一个部分。

再看看WIKI上的解释 In general terms, volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others or a particular cause without payment for their time and services. Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life, but people also volunteer for their own skill development, to meet others, to make contacts for possible employment, to have fun, and a variety of other reasons that could be considered self-serving.

主要是教育方面的，内容有技术性的(英语计算机)也有一些soft skill，学生有贫穷地区的小朋友，也有migrant worker

非常正确，volunteer work对我来说是self-serving
