独立主格到底能加什么形式呀

在看PREP08的时候，看到独立主格名词后面的形式有v-ed/v-ing/介词短语/形容词短语。里面没有名词。也就是没有n n这种形式的独立主格。可是BY里说过这种独立主格形式是存在的，并且还有题目。

而GWD中有这样一道题：
A mixture of poems and short fiction, Jean Toomer's Cane has been called one of the three best novels ever written by  a Black American—(the others being Richard Wright's Native Son and Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man.)
括号里是不是个独立主格结构？如果存在nn形式的独立主格，那个being完全没必要存在呀。

普通独立主格：
n．+ n.; n. + -ed/ing 形式; n. + 介词短语;n. +形容词短语

each独立主格：
each +(NOUN +) –ed/-ing/形容词短语/介词短语

"each +(NOUN)"可以看成是普通独立主格的特殊名词形式。
