If the noun in question is already anexplicitly numerical quantity, then you should useneither"much" nor "many". Instead, you should just use "twice" or "double" by itself.
e.g.,twice the increase--> "increase" is an explicitly numerical quantity

我对答案没有疑问，只是奇怪为何选项分析里说，twice as much as也是对的。因为从句的主语amount明显是an explicit numerical quantity，用as much as是多余的呀。
