状语从句的例子比如：

话说真的好难啊。。。其实即使知道这么回事。。。万一考了我估计也很难分出是修饰VERB还是做宾语。。。
另外还有个问题就是，or not必须跟着whether吗？还是也可以说They will play tomorrow whether it rains or not?（根据兄台给出的网址的例句的改写。。。）

whether和whether or not意思不一样。whether or not更多的表示肯定，不管xx与否，等同于regardless of whether.
whether更多的表示疑问，对接下来的主题有疑问。
例句：
1. whether or not they are professional writers, many people are confused about whether they should use that phrase.
不管是否是专业作家，都很迷惑，whether or not表示肯定。
第二个whether表示疑问，是否应该用这个短语。


2. they will play tomorrow whether or not it rains. (they will play tomorrow whether it rains or not)
表肯定。

答：“whether... or...”可以引导包含选择范围的让步状语从句， 意为“不管……”。例如：
I shall go, whether you come with me or stay at home. 不论你来还是留在家中， 我都要去。
Whether she wins or loses, this is her last chance. 不管是赢是输， 这都是她的最后一次机会。
