D项them也是可能被误解是在修饰tourists的从句里面，所以有修饰tourists的嫌疑，
而E项because后面的核心词不是tourists,所以them才修饰了主句里的chambers?

想了一下，你这个解释最合理！句子重心的问题！但是还是感觉E最正确的地方是在它的现在时平行结构，选最优吧。

2because moisture exhaled by tourists had raised the humidity within them中，主语是单数名词moisture，them与 by tourists 不是同一级吧，them优先指代主句名词。

但是有疑问them为什么不是指代vistors，靠近的宾语呢？them是介词宾语啊，与visitors不是更加consistent
