C选项错误，OG里给的解释是them指代不明。但在此句中很明显，them只有可能指代four million people。盼望牛牛们解答。

而且C选项整个读起来就怪怪的。

还是不理解， them 可能指代前面哪个名词呢？ 找不到娃，不过可以通过are 来排除C， 但是them指代这个知识点， 就模糊过去了哈
有谁能解释一下为什么them指代不清吗？ anyone？

而且 此句中ETS是不是想说population是集合名词 用单数。同时A of B的结构中强调对象是A不是B，从而population of only four million people的结构中population是主要要说的部分，后面同位语用them来指代 就不合理了。

没搞明白D为什么错，comparable to the size of Great Britain应该没有错吧，是因为把附属的从句变成主干“and many"的关系么？

我觉得ABC选项中about有问题，在gmat考试中that从句优先于about+n，所以我感觉有about+n这种结构好像基本没争正确的，不知道这样理解可不可以？
