答案是D。
我选的是E。我觉得E比较平行对称啊，主语都是the usage啊。

对了，刚刚又仔细想了一想，觉得C也对啊，即平行又没有什么代词指代错误。

我刚刚从新东方的笔记里看到
unlike A, B do......，A与B是同类事就可以，没有说一定要求名词啊~
