1、E是倒桩，我也选的C，on Earth位置不一样，全文意思就变了，至于怎么变了，我也没看清楚。
2、be likely to do 没有 be likely in doing
3、B中插入语离要修饰词太远了，a tool指的是 the radio

A把than后面比较对象的主谓倒装了
而C把谓语省略了，这两种都可以的！所以AC皆可

主语为the rate，动词is没问题。如果选C的话后面的their指代不清。

顶楼上，不是among + 复数名词+is 永远对，是因为这句是倒装，真正的主语是the rate，之所以要倒装就是为了后半句不出现歧义
第三题中B，but 要求前后平行的，但是which 没有可与它平行的部分啊

on earth 的位置问题：
A : on earth 在前面，整句话的意思就是，只有在地球，树成长的速度被认为是太阳黑子周期的the surest indications。（而这种情况在其他星球不适用。）
E：on earth 在indications 后面，整句话的意思就是，the surest indications （在地球的indications）关于 sunspot cycles的，被相信是 树的成长速度。
