Split could be a verb or an adjective. However, no matter what it is, D can never be right since it breaks the parallelism of the noun series. If "split" is considered a verb, it involves the same mistake as in C. On the other hand, if "split" is considered an adjective, it involves the same mistake as in E. Therefore, either way, D is wrong. |
