我认为rose mm说的是正确的。

但是，one of the anti-budworm agents that is least toxic用is是不是因为有least的原因呢？有没有关于one of +定从中有最高级时的用法说明？

我在高考英语能力突破（语法）这本书上看到：

one of + n(pl.) + 定从+ vs

this is one of the rooms that were damaged in the fire.

如果之前有the only, the very, the等限定词和修饰语时,定从中用v

she was the only one of the girls who was late for the meeting.

对于看意思判断one of ns 后的v是单还是复，这样太不定了，不好把握！

不过不知道参看高考的语法书（2003。8出版），可不可以解释GMAT的语法：）

有THE 修饰ONE OF时，定从修饰 THE ONLY ONE OF NS

eg: One of my friends is in the US.（强调one）

one of + 复数名词 + 定语从句(从句复数谓语) + 主句谓语单数；

eg: One of my friends who are in the US will come to China.（强调friends）

only one of + 复数名词 + 定语从句(从句单数谓语)；

eg: Only one of my friends who is in the US will come  to China.（强调only one）

以上的是行文的规律，并非所谓白勇的公理。我在http://forum.chasedream.com/dispbbs.asp?BoardID=23&ID=55441只不过是强调了在阅读中的可能的语法错误，从语法上讲阅读中的那个例子可以更好地被表达为：only one of the anti-budworm agents that is least toxic to insect-pollinators或one of the anti-budworm agents that are least toxic to insect-pollinators。
抱歉，我恐怕在前一个帖子中没有表达清楚。希望这次表达清楚了。

原来集体讨论可以有这么多扩展的知识，而且还可以在相互帮助和提示下有更好的理解。所以回到这个经典阅读中"Scientists have now investigated the effects of the spraying of matacil, one of the anti-budworm agents that is least toxic to insect-pollinators." 我认为理解句意很重要。

1。"one of..."首先是并列说明“the spraying of matacil”, determined by 前半句是完整句和“toxic...”是描述“the spraying of matacil”.

2。"one of the anti-budworm agents that is least toxic....."是和“least”有关的。"that is.."相当于后置限制形容 “one of..”. 而出现“least”最高级中也只能来说明“one”,也既是“the spraying of matacil”

个人见解，不知可否经受推敲。请大家评判，谢谢！
