我看不懂.主语不同啊.

其实主语是相同的，意思是说“这些鸟和他所依赖的食物一样是因为某种原因消失的”

虽然鸟和前面那个不是严格的同一样东西，但是在文中叙述的时候是同一类东西，都是濒临灭绝的东西

其实这个题还是蛮有有意思的，用Like A, B does 句型来比较两种看起来非常不相干的东西，其实正是看起来不相干，使得我们必须找到其共同点：both A and B are vanishing，而且其原因是相同的 -- as a  result of ...。只有找到这个共性，才能正确选择到答案。

A. 仅仅说了the sandpipers are vanishing，没有体现the grassy fields and
old pastures [[are also vanishing]], 也就是没有找到Like A, B结构中AB的共性！

C. 一个that 使得句子是两个从句连接，没有主句; change to中的介词也不对

DE同样没有主句, 句子结构不完整

如果把like 换成 as A do, B do 很容易理解。as the grassy fields and old pastures are,  the bird itself is vanishing in the northeastern United State

这儿之所以不用 as 是因为 the grassy fields and old pastures 后面修饰成分太长
