模考的时候我选了E,结果review的时候选了B

首先说说我的理由，楼上有人说B用was逻辑错，我觉得这个是没理由的，因为在哥伦布到美洲，之前“曾经”最大的那个公路系统，现在已经不存在了，倒是很符合用过去式的逻辑

另外有人说XX人是狗倒过来说狗是XX人，这个例子用在这里不合适。因为这里有用了the greatest road system,特指曾经最大的那个公路系统，特指最大的这一个，而不是泛指，所以逻辑上没错。

有人说road system不能做extend的主语，这里extended是一个过去式啊，和was平行，有什么不可以？

下面这个例句来自longman,说明road system完全可以做extend的主语。

The River Nile extends as far south as Lake Victoria.

至于E,其实我毛病也没看出来，但觉得E有改变句子重心结构的嫌疑，因为原句重心是强调XX是XX,而E变成强调这条路的长度了。前面那个同位语也太长了，感觉重心明显不对。

所以还是认为B比较好。

因为B中的was紧跟哥伦布，所以会有修饰哥伦布之嫌，而E避免了这个问题，所以E比B好一些，哪位能解释一下C不好在哪里？是没有主句吗？谢谢！

除了逻辑意思不对，over 2,500 miles in length 修饰有歧义吧，到底是修饰the greatest road system, 还是 the Incan highway？

这里涉及时态问题：B，extended要用extends就对，表示客观存在用一般现在时。

E对，前半句是同位结构，extending短语修饰主句主语。

但E里面不是也用了was过去时吗?

我觉得根本就没有什么extend要用现在时的问题，看一下所有选项，前面都是was，后面的都是extended,除了extending。也就是说这个句子在说一个过去的事情，估计现在这个greatest road system都不在了。所以不需要讨论时态问题。

再来b的问题，这里was and extended是平行的，over 2500 miles作为状语，放在was and extended中间勇逗号隔开，会产生歧义的，是修饰前面的分句was还是后面的分句extended？虽然好像都可以。

最后，e的extending最伴随状语， 是用来说明怎么个in length法，是这个road的特征，本来也不代表任何时态。不过说实话，我真分不清分词（现在分词，过去分词）做定语还是状语的情况。

比如

Many financial experts believe that policy makers at the Federal Reserve, now viewing the economy as balanced between moderate growth and low inflation, are almost certain to leave interest rates unchanged for the foreseeable future.

我本来也是选B，后来仔细看了题目后发现B不妥，over 2,500 miles in length,是插入语，extended和was是并列的， 主语是greatest road system ，所以是错的。

楼上的照你说的为什么不对呀？最greast的公路系统是Incan Highway，它长多少，延伸到~~~~~~~~~

所以既然greatest road system 就是Incan Highway, 不管Over~~是修饰greatest road system, 还是修饰Incan Highway,不都是一个逻辑意思吗，所以不会造成歧义呀？
