关于“李登辉和狗”的问题。

把修饰语简化的同时就扩大了主体的外延，这种方法本来就有逻辑问题。

我觉得这题应该选﹙B﹚啦!

看了前面的讨论，好象没有提到(B)和(D)的主语在那儿

很明显的

﹙B﹚的主语应该是” The greatest road system”，而verb应该是was，它最大的问题应该是..was.. and ved，这个结构不能被接受，但这应该是        EFFECTIVENESS和CORRECTIVENESS的问题，只能说”不好”，不能说”不对”

但

(D)的主语应该是the Incan highway，重点来了，那前面那一大串” The greatest road system built in the Americas prior to the arrival of Christopher Columbus,”，就都变成主语的同位语了，问题就出在这，ETS会把强调的重点择在前面，而同位语放在后面，而且(D)的结构会造成同位语的混乱。

故这题应该选﹙B﹚

请大家给点意见

同意上面的看法。

在E中，the Incan highway 作为句子的主语，前面的一长窜名词只能看成是the Incan highway 的同位语了，但是有头重脚轻的感觉。另外，我还发现了E的一个问题，就是the Incan highway was over 2,500 miles long的谓语用的是was，但是the Incan highway的长度应该是客观事实吧，不会造的时候是2,500mile，而后来就变化了，我觉得用is 比较合理。

我好象没听说过is,can后面不能伴随状语的说法.weiyu 举的那些伴随状语的例子,如kingsoft说的,确实是因为其他原因导致不能伴随,而不是因为前面有is,can之类的导致不能伴随.

我觉得这道题里,extending...是伴随状语,说明前面提到的over 2500 miles long. 而highway ..exending...没有逻辑错误,就象fungus...extending...也是对的.

而我觉得如果说B选项错是因为was时态的话,那么正确选项E中也是用was呀.

我觉得选E不选B就是因为E用了伴随状语,更好的说明over 2500miles long是怎么个long的...结构更好.而且B的句子结构 Columbus was the Incan highway, over 2,500 miles in length, and extended 可能让人理解成:the Incan highway extended only in the past ----就象fungus那道题OG解释为什么不用extended一样.

这道题目我还是倾向于B:

Juan举了OG里的一个例子很好，但是我觉得OG那道题目用extending,因为the fungus “is” 是现在还客观存在，extending表示这个动作一直持续到现在。
反观这41题，所有选项用的都是was,说明这个highway是过去存在，现在不存在的，所以再用extending表持续到现在似乎就不恰当了。所以还是选B比E更精准，逻辑上意思更舒服一点感觉

用“李登辉和狗”来解释是说不通的吧。因为李登辉是个体，狗是范围，个体包含于范围中所以才不能前后颠倒，说成“狗是李登辉”。而这道题里，the greatest road system是单一的，the Incan highway也是单一的，两个不存在包含的关系，只是等价的关系，可以前后颠倒着说的呀。

这个在OG里面多次说过逻辑是不对的。比如，可以说“李登辉是狗”。但是你能说“狗是李登辉”吗？

如果可以这样说，估计全世界的狗都要出来造反了，除了李登辉家的。

一语惊醒梦中人,记得og里面 一题好像是 印加人修建筑那题便是这样解的!!

而且你举的例子生动形象,哈哈
