我记得一般情况下，rather than 后面不是应该尽量接动词原形么，而且more 后面没有做than的话这样的情况可以么，为什么选A呢

rather than=but not，前后连接的内容要平行，这是大原则，至于具体内容可以加很多。

1. He ran rather than walked.

2. He is a teacher rather than a friend.

3. You are doing this for yourself rather than for others.

4. It was what he meant rather than what he said.

你说的那个情况不是rather than后面加动词原形，而是prefer to do A rather than do B这个句型。
这个时候rather可以省略，即prefer to do A than do B也是可以的

另，prefer的用法还有：
prefer A
prefer doing
prefer A to B
prefer doing A to doing B
prefer sb. to do sth
