我这种情况,申请美国的学校,多少名以后的有准啊? -- by 会员 aqalex (2011/4/29 23:31:45)
You need to obtain a GMAT score of 700 plus before you really delve into the application process. The bottomline is 720 if you apply for finance programs. Do you have a masters from the U.S.? If so, what about your chances of securing recommendation letter from your U.S. professors? How old are you? I think you should be fine as long as you are under forty. I would suggest that you also try some strategy programs, for which age is conceivably much less a liability than for finance programs. As far as I know the Ph.D. Management Progam of the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve Univ. prefers older applicants. The age range of the current students in the program is 30-50. Do not be overly concerned about the rankings of Ph.D. programs. After all, there are only about 100 universities in the U.S. that offer Ph.D. programs for all concentrations. For a complete list, check out phdproject.org. Thus, I am very confused when I hear people in this website talking about the uselessless of attending finance Ph.D. programs that do not make the top 100. Such finance programs do not exist actually. All in all, you need to be well prepared if you really want to apply. Business Ph.D. programs are truly competitive--probably the most competitive thing in the world. Sounds you do not already have an idea of this. -- by 会员 Tripleg (2011/4/30 0:27:49)
