IMHO,  A is better than B in logic.

1)drawing solid conclusions is not a direct consequence of the first action.
Neuroscientists can do a lot work but still contributes to nothing.

2)
here, we have the word "now", seems to highlight the content after it. The things we accomplish now is more important in logic.

3)one is a previous step to accomplish one thing , another one is a solid conclusion <or we can say the author's contribution>
clearly, the latter is what we need to emphasize.

B里的“and”错，从句省略就变成 neuroscientistis and are.......明显不通。
C amassing主动用法错

D,E里句尾缺少“and”以及谓语"are"。

但是想知道选项D中，OG解释如下：
The final descriptor in present tense, now drawing conclusions ... does not fit the opening clause, which is in present-perfect tense (have amassed a wealth ...) and seems to modify adulthood.


1）所说的 does not fit 前句中现在完成，具体指什么？是楼上Gail所讲的吗？
2）主句，doing 所引导的句子。drawing引导句子的逻辑不是逻辑主语是主句的主语吗？为什么解释中说是修饰adulthood？

gail小m的解释一直很经典。

对于D，我是这么认为：
1. 【，V-ing】结构，优先在句尾作状语。但是，这并不意味着它失去了作定语的可能。
2. 如gail所说，对于这个句子一定要有一个逻辑上的感觉：谈论古今之事，我们强调的肯定是今，而非古。

单单看D，drawing如若做伴随状语，表同时发生的两件事，应与主句同时发生，且逻辑主语是主句主语。但是，从原句结构可看：前半句是完成时，表事情已结束；后半句上来出现一个now，表现在；二者有时间断层，故不可以做伴随状语。

而楼主说结果状语，在这里也不可以。结果状语的逻辑主语，是主句整句话，而非主句主语。而主句整句话的是说【.Neuroscientists积累了很多经验】，但是这个句子又不可能是draw这个词的逻辑发出对象，故不能做结果状语。

所以，drawing就只能很不情愿得去当定语修饰adulthood，结果它还是错的...  但这一切错误的开始，都源于它做状语失败了。。。

对于V-ing，推荐看Manhattan第六章的解释，比较通俗易懂~

感谢Bat，从语意出发，怎么也fit不上。

了解了，另外在prep里面总结出的：

V-ing结构在句子可做 定语/状语
1）前面是主谓宾, 放在句尾, Ving结构做状语: 表伴随动作; 伴随结果
2）前面是主系表, Ving结构可为修饰前面名词的成分. 因主系表结构中是同一事物
3）现在分词在句尾用逗号隔开,此结构从未失去”做定语”的功能,只是优先做状语,修饰前面主句的主语和谓语.
     若前面主句的谓语是完成时,那么既然已经完成,Ving就不再做其他伴随, 只剩下定语的功能.
4）V-ing短语无法伴随修饰现在完成时, 伴随动作或伴随结果均不对.

可是为什么又说可以伴随现在完成时呢？如GWD 10 Q8
