找到了以前的帖子，基本明白不选A的原因了。但是不明白为什么不选C。
对于C的解释，都是chalice不能发出avoid的动作，OG Verbal Review解释说需要加it，为什么？

chalice was buried to avoid being stolen by invaders.这句话有什么问题？

改成：chalice was buried to avoid it being stolen by invaders.就对了吗？

这是牛津高阶第七版118页上的例句：
The name was changed to avoid confusion with another firm.
根据"chalice不能发出avoid的动作"的解释，那么这个句子中岂不是name自己发出avoid这个动作的？

A与C是一样的，avoid 就等于 keep away from，见Merriam-Webster Dictionary.
