LZ我也处在犹豫之中,但是看到这样的消息,心里给MU加了几分。以下信息来自我在美国的亲戚的一位当地朋友的邮件,希望可以给大家选择时提供一点帮助: Marquette is a great school with a very good national reputation for business (including accounting), law and nursing. The common thought is that they are among the top ten for business schools in the country, so that is very good.
Milwaukee is a pretty large city so it has it's share of bad neighborhoods and crime, but in general it is a really great place to live. There is a ton of culture so if she is looking forward to learning about different things on a personal level she will never get bored there. There is also a substantial Chinese population so she can still get some of the foods she may be accustomed to. It is pretty close both to Chicago and Madison so that has many benefits as well both from a cultural experience and job selection standpoint. But jobs in the immediate area are plentiful. There seems to always be demand for accounting and business leaders in every market so she will have her choice of jobs. She can even succeed on her own if she wishes to start her own accounting business.
The cost of living I'd estimate is average. It is not very high (like you will find if you go near the East or West coasts) but at the same time it isn't the cheapest, either. She will be able to choose how she lives - there are apartments and homes for rent for just about any price range.
I never attended Marquette, but I've talked with many people who have and they have all spoken highly of the school and neighboring area. Overall I would highly recommend the school. Although your niece doesn't know me, she does have a friend near by (I live less than 60 miles from there) and I'd be happy to help in any way that I can.
从中可以看出,这所学校在当地的声誉确实非常好,另外我认识的一个在depaul读博的阿姨(她好像是读理工科的)也说MU的声誉很好,推荐我去他家。但是出了这片地方,估计知道这所学校的就不多啦! |
