OG12 119 关于过去分词做形容词的平行结构

平行结构没问题，当时我的理解是把split 理解成过去分词做形容词修饰continents，所以我选的是C ，不知道因为apart是副词所以不能这样理解？
还有B里面的如果splitting做名词了，那apart算什么成分呢？

是动作对应动作而不是continent vs vocano
spliting 对应eruption

根据 MANHATTAN  GMAT的语法 里面说过 the+V-ing = noun.
所以在这里 THE SPLITING 实际上可以看成是名词的， 也就和其他名词平行了
