operation management，有谁了解这个专业

想知道operation information management 这个专业就业如何，我申请了UCONN的这个专业的PHD，今天刚面试完，对方明确要求我重考T。我是CS专业的，对这个OM专业不是很了解，因为已经收到其他学校cs的offer，所以犹豫要不要重考T，我导师跟我说这个business school accounting最好，OM这个专业不好找工作。矛盾中，有谁给我指点一下。

这个专业主要研究方向是物流很多时候和MIS绑在一起，美国开这个专业的学校相对fin和acc来说少很多，所以毕业以后当faculty的机会也会相对少一些，工作前景的确不如fin和acc。。。。但是学这个专业的人也相对少，总的来说竞争没fin和acc那么激烈。。。。

哦，不了解，我导师只是跟我说现在高校缺 accounting faulty，所以目前accounting phd 比较好找工作，至于industry 她就不了解了

acct is now the best in terms of demand/supply as well as the average pay according to the AACSB 2010 report. mis/operations/ob are all struggling.....

yep, I like accounting as well. Accounting PhD, Finance PhD, MBA, nothing valuable left in B-schools.

accounting总体就业形势比较好。OM在商学院下面算是比较差的专业，竞争非常激烈。工学院下面工业工程和运筹学的都可以和你来竞争，商学院下面招pos-doc得好像只有OM, 只能说供给大于需求。不过对你个人来说,你要权衡利弊,分析自己的长短处,做出选择。om总体形势不好，不过对每个个体要具体情况具体分析。
