Do I need to take these courses in order to apply to MBA program?
Many B-schools seem to strongly encourage applicants to have had intro-level accounting, econ, finance and statistics. I never have these courses and was wondering if it is helpful to take them.
some MBAs told me that it is not that important, compared to GPA, GMAT, essay, recommendations. Do you think I could show the schools that I learn those stuff by myself or by going to some workshop?
MM. If you think it is necessary for you take these courses, and taking them would be valuable for both your job and your application. Then just go ahead. But what should be bear in mind is that you must manage your time wisely to make sure you can gain most out of the time and enegy you invest.
BTW, are you going to apply for the 2005 MBA program?
Thanks, pupu! Yeah, I'm going to apply for 2005. I have a Masters' in social science and had some research methods and economic policy courses. My GMAT is 750. Plus, I also attended some workshop on fundamental acc. and finance before. So I was wondering if this is enough to show that I have the aptitude and motivation. I'm sure I can handle those courses, but not sure if some B-schools like transcripts for regular courses.
Also, my under rankings is top 3 in my class but GPA is not very high. Don't know if taking these courses might bolster GPA.
