请问OG6 和OG 9 （已查了提问总结，没找到答案）

是不是问题太简单了，不过我还是想问一下。

这句话怎么翻译呢？也许是因为翻译不明白，OG中的一句话“the phrase THE CHEMICAL IRRITANT   is also the most concise and precise conclusion for the sentence because it clearly refers to the DIOXIN mentioned earlier”我也不太明白。

OG中解释的这句“ONE is sufficient to introduce the modifier and the sentenve is more fluid without that ”我是不是可以理解为加上THAT 也不错，因为“THEY BELIEVE ...”是修饰宾语的同位语的从句，所以省略THAT 更好呢？

（ 句子还原后是THEY BELIEVE  ONE TO BE  OF A TYPE PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO SCIENCE吗??? ）

1dioxin（ 一种化学物）导致了酶的产生，这些酶是生物体的尝试为了新陈代谢（分解）这种化学刺激物（dioxin），或是使这种化学刺激物无害。

2你的还原是对的。我的理解前面one that they believe is , 正常顺序they believe that one is...变成one+that定语从句, 因为one不作主语，所以一般省that, 后面believe +that宾语从句,在定语从句中出现的宾语从句，that一般也省，所以应该是one they believe is，不过这里believe宾语从句不如believe to do好。

结构上就是 v+a.+n       然后中间还加了个逗号

这样的结构不是很奇怪吗？  哪位能从结构上给说说

其实这是老美最爱用的由＂轻到重＂的写作方式,OG另有不少例子,一时想不起来,就不误导人了.所谓＂由轻到重＂就是受词补语(O.C.)较受词(O.)短时,老美会将受词补语移到受词前,让句子结构呈现头轻脚重的形式,这种写作方式很常见.只是外国学生不大习惯,总觉念起来不是很顺.

所以本答案原句为: attempt to metabolize, or render the chemical irritant harmless

render为＂使得＂的意思(后接受词+受词补语 )

chemical irritant->指dioxin(受词, O.)

harmless->受词补语(O.C.)

通常将O.C.移位时,受词前是不会加逗号的(因为老美懒惰),

但正式的话加逗号区隔会让读者看得比较清楚.

所以原句就是＂使得dioxin变得没有伤害
