但是为什么用have been 而不用had been啊？？？他们不是已经在以前就消失了吗？？？应该是过去的过去用appear to had been 啊？？

appear to had been 是错误的表达，to后面只能是动词原形，表示现在和将来用to do,过去用to have done，没有to had done这样的表达。

因为infinitives 的form 只有 present & perfect 两种.
所以不存在为何不用past perfect tense。
