google上一大堆 the rising of costs的例子，凭什么ETS认定它unidiomatic。

the rising of costs has created oppotunity也没问题呀。看来唯一的判断标准只有 The rising cost和a growing opportunity对称，可这样解释太牵强了，定冠词the和不定冠词a也没有对应关系呀？

这种题目怎么判断呢？

我觉得不牵强啊。

中心词：the rising of costs中心词是rising，强调成本上升的状态。那么：the rising of costs has created oppotunity 则是“（成本的）上升造就了（增长的）机会”。

the rising costs 中心词是costs，强调上升的成本。那么the rising costs has created a growing opportunity 是“（上升的）成本造就了（增长的）机会”

当然后面的更好了。

the rising of costs has created oppotunity 不好，如果改为：the rising of costs has created a growth of oppotunity.“（成本的）上升造就了（机会的）增长”，本来需要强调的事物放在了修饰语这个次要的位置，显然不能令人满意。

变来变去，不如the rising costs has created a growing opportunity.
