NYU-POLY的金融工程用GMAT能申吗? 求确切答案...

We will consider a GMAT result, but we strongly prefer the GRE.  Success on the GRE shows real talent relative to the group of would-be engineering students -- the GMAT has a baseline of business students.  Mathematical potential relative to engineering applicants is far more interesting to us.

这是那边的回复, 但CD上充斥着只能GRE的消息, 甚至交了申请费之后就说只能用GRE的消息...........所以求啊求确切消息..................

一般说strongly prefer基本就等于只认那个了，等于告诉你差不多水平下用GMAT申胜算小得多

LZ你的消息确定，你好久问的，我6月问的他们的回复是这样的：
What are the minimum/average score of TOEFL test?   Whether do you accept the GMAT as the replacement of GRE?


Our program expects at least a score of 90 on the TOEFL.  Other programs at NYU-Poly have other standards.  We do not accept the GMAT.


How many students will you hire in the 2011Fall and how many Chinese students are there in the 2010Fall class? You see, the diversity is very important for both us students and the professors.


We have a goal of admitting between 70 and 100 students each fall.  The students for 2010 come from at least 14 countries.  Chinese students form a large cohort, due to the high standards in mathematical education in China.  It is our goal that no one country dominate the incoming class of students.

考个GRE也不是难事啊，我们这一届只有60多人，11fall只会少，不会多

事实证明是可以的。
我因为去年的重考事件，懒得去再跑上海考gre了，所以用gmat申请的。
拿到了offer，第一年7000 stipend，当时刚开始也说过gmat不行的，最后又要了。
所以说明gmat还是可以的。
不过可能因为我gmat比较高。

顺便求助，有人了解不，如果是伦敦帝国理工的金融工程master（risk management &financial engineering）出来以后，申请美国的phd有希望么。
