首先，as..as.. 句型不是很清楚，as 为什么接there are 呢？我选的C 。  还有，这道题也可以用compared with吧? 如果有选项的话？

根据未划线部分判断，应该是个as many... as ... 的句型，排除D/E

as many...as 已经表示比较，若再加compared to, redundancy排除A

根据句意，关系代词应该用where  排除C

There are as many apples as (there are) organs.

一般好像省略的比较多。

这道题其他选项都不对，只能选B。

idioms used to compare here are,
1) more x than y
2) as many x... as y..

A - compared to is unnecesary. Coz u know, "compared to" is another idiom for comparison which is useless since there is an idiom as.... as to compare already.

B - Correct.. correctly uses as ... as idiom and compares "households" precisely.

C - House holds are compared to "children and grandchildren"

D,E - than is a wrong idiom for as... than
