对于这题，我还有两个疑问：

1、D错在什么地方，people和enrollment不对等吗？

2、怎么会是E，e就认为它是省略了people，那后面的are enrooled in也很难理解，补全了是people are enrolled in...，是一个句子了，怎么会对，明显是要比较people的数量，要是用as many as people enrolled in...，后面Ved修饰people还好理解。

你理解错了。我估计你是看了刘振民的书。

E的结构你把它还原错了，其实还原开来应该是：

are (people enrolled in ***)

比较结构里的Be动词是可以放前面也可以放后面的，这里为了更加迷惑你，所以放在前面了，让你以为还原后成为一个完整的句子。

GMAT比较中分为主语比较和宾语比较的，主语比较才要尽可能给出助动词。而被比较的两个分句中的公用部分可以省略。非公用部分绝对不可以省略。例如：

People in the first classroom are stonger than are in the second classroom.

这个句子就省略了公用部分people，虽然than后面的半个分句看起来很奇怪。也可以写成：

People in the first classroom are stonger than in the second classroom are.

其中的不同是由be动词的性质决定的。

明白多了，但还有疑惑：

People in the first classroom are stonger than are people in the second classroom,这里很好理解，前后有people(可省），前后都有are.

companies in the United States are providing job training and general education for nearly eight million people, as many as are people enrolled in

但这里people好理解，后面的are是什么东西，和前面什么平行，这里到底比较什么

如果说比较主语，那不是后面的people和前面的companies去比了。

恳请解释，比较的前后各是怎么回事，谢谢！

为什么不可以是句子？我认为完全可以是两个句子的不同成分的比较，只要它门可比，就象本句，前句宾语和后句主语比较。
companies are providing .... for people, as many as people are enrolled in colleges.
(or maybe "people that are enrolled in colleges", but I do not think so.)
