CD上原来有一个帖子说了有关倍数的表达方式 其中讲述得很详细 由于找不到原帖的地址了 把我留下的记录给你看看 呵呵 希望有所帮助 看完这个神贴 对倍数问题那是茅塞顿开 很管用！一踢一个准！

倍數辭句型的用法敘述:
結構︰…倍數詞＋the（或所有格）＋名詞  
說明︰此句型意為“是…的幾倍”。
<倍數詞>與<名詞>之間一定有 the 或<所有格>。
有時可改為“<倍數詞>＋as＋<形容詞>”。三倍以上的“倍”，通常用“times”。
而“more than＋<倍數詞>＋the（或<所有格>）＋<名詞>”譯為“是…的幾倍還不止”。

相同的分析例题
In the 1980’s the rate of increase of the minority population of the United States was nearly twice as fast as the 1970’s.
(A) twice as fast as
(B) twice as fast as it was in

回到上面的倍数表达式
倍数加something   这题是the rate was twice something.
(B)something 不能是 it was in .... 它是一个句子. 可以改为: twice as fast as the rate that was in the 1970's. 不够简洁, 所以有了 what 引出的句子. what it was in 1970's.
(C) something 是 what

=>>>结果都是something, 它可以有从句来限制/修饰(that... ), 但不能是一个句子, 除非是what 引出的(what 就是那个something)

回到此题.
the amount ... is twice something.
1. that which 不好. "that that" is better, 可是仍旧不够好.
2. 没有something
3. as 不配对.
4. that emitted annually by all. something 是that,   that (that) emitted annually by all.
5. compared to 是多余的,twice 已经在表示比较了.

D. movies, a number lower than the people
E. movies, fewer than the ones

这道题选B啊，我当时也觉得名词应该跟名词比较，所以选了E

上面说的情况是倍数的表达，不适用于所有的比较，只限于倍数的
然后这个题目么 我觉得首先是平行的概念 主句部分结构是 主语+have been+killed byXX B中的结构是最能表示平行的
然后是比较对象的对等 A. less than those                   those指的是什么呢?shark?movies?还是people?
B. fewer than have been                                             fewer表示变少了 than后面应该是省略了和主句重复的部分，也就是people
C. movies,which is less than those                               which指代成movies,those指代不清
D. movies, a number lower than the people                主语是people，用a number表示不妥当吧 还有就是a number跟在movies和逗号后面 是不是指代有歧义呢？
E. movies, fewer than the ones                                   这里的fewer紧跟在逗号和movies的后面，那就有指代上的问题了,fewer是指movies么？还有后面the ones的指代，这里也可以产生是指代man-eater的歧义吧
