jay是单数，所以a b排除。c用tending不对，后面应该接动词

tend的用法是 tend to do sth. 刚才查了下朗文还有: tend towards sth。所以排除E。只能选D。

至于lz说的为什么不用if，我觉得storedlong enough 直接修饰treat， 没必要用条件句。要用的话if后面怎么都得要个be动词吧
