原句是不是有wordy之嫌？
and so too are modems的and是否应该去掉呢？
原因如You are an excellent pilot, so am I. 这里so前面难道还需要and连接吗？
原句改为（2）Computers are becoming faster, more powerful, and more reliable, so too are modems, the devices that allow two or more computers to share information over regular telephone lines. 这样不更为concise吗？
还是（2）与原句都可以？

制约与平衡

原句就是个错句子。后面so too are modems 和 they……两个句子并列，没有连词。

题中的是so too不是so，是倒装句。要是还原估计是modems are so too，so too用来代替了前句中三个more，它是一个句子。所以楼主的例子没有可比性。

只有原句是正确的，（2）不可以。

我没说清楚，导致制约与平衡 理解错我的意思了，我这里原句指的是用B选项替换后的原句，相当于：Computers are becoming faster, more powerful, and more reliable, and so too are modems, the devices that allow two or more computers to share information over regular telephone lines.
因为红色部分是一个完整句子，the devices作同位语修饰modems,此处and去掉句子也没错啊？
至于倒装You are an excellent pilot,so am I.红色部分也是倒装，如果按照B选项替换后的原句，这个例句是否可写成You are an excellent pilot,and so too am I.呢？
我还是觉得B选项替换后的原句中的and多余，愚见，望指教，谢谢！
