我选了A，看到有的帖子上也有人说A是正确的答案

但我觉得选E的话破坏了原句的意思： 有潜力成为reservoirs of energy，（用一个现在分词做定语修饰reservoirs，表示这个储存有可能导致海平面的不稳定），和constributors of...。在这里reservoirs和constributors平行
而E虽然是很完美的平行，但总觉得一定程度上扭曲了原句的逻辑意思。

还有，有人能说说potential做名词时的用法吗？我查了一下大全，很多potential 做名词就是加to do不定式的。
